Our Mission is to meet students where they are and support them in building real-world skills, financial stability and meaningful community connections that prepare them for lifelong success as they reach their potential.
What a Successful Student Looks Like
A successful WWU student will look different from one student to the next. In today’s world, individualized pathways are essential for many young people to have a real opportunity to reach their full potential.
Please visit our “Meet Our Students” page to learn more about specific student journeys and how Wealth Within U is helping them grow.
All WWU students are aged 16-24. They will leave Wealth within U having earned a New York State High School Diploma or NYSED High School Equivalency Diploma (GED), a New York State driver’s license, and are registered to vote. Each student demonstrates competency in:
The local, state, and federal election process and its impact
New York State and federal tax preparation
Digital literacy
Core financial skills such as short- and long-term financial planning, purchasing a car, navigating credit, and home buying
Executive functioning skills such as time management and organization
We recognize that these goals may appear similar to those of traditional schools; however, many students fall through the cracks before reaching them. Wealth Within U meets those students where they are and helping them rediscover purpose and direction during their most formative years.
Our goal is to leverage the resources already available within our community, many of which are underutilized, to support students effectively. When necessary, we create or adapt curriculum to meet the unique goals and learning styles of each individual.
Our Vision is to create a pathway for our students to empower others within their community by example and inspire them to seek their potential as valued and contributing members of society.
Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status is currently in progress, and we’re excited to share our journey with you. If approved, our charitable status will be retroactive to our date of incorporation, meaning any contributions made during this period may become tax deductible once our status is officially determined.
